Andrea Newton
MSH, LMHC, LPC

Andrea received her Masters of Science in Health with an emphasis in Addictions Counseling from the University of North Florida. She is licensed in Florida as a Mental Health Counselor and in Wisconsin as a Licensed Professional Counselor. She was born in Cuba and is bilingual as well as bicultural, providing for her clients a true understanding of the issues facing ethnic families with children and adolescents living in mainstream America. She has extensive experience working with children in the areas of behavior management, trauma from abuse or neglect, hyperactivity, stress associated with change and educational concerns. Andrea has provided services for children in Outpatient as well as Day Treatment Programs and works to assist parents whose children have been identified as Learning Disordered or have Special Education Placement. She has worked with adolescents in Disruptive Foster Care, with those navigating the Juvenile Justice System and the Dual-Diagnosed. As an extension of her experience with children she is also comfortable working with couples in marriage counseling, divorce, blended families, depression, anxiety, abandonment and Personality Disorders. Andrea strongly believes in the principles of Cognitive Therapy and its Behavioral component.
