Chuck
Eigen
MS,
LPC
Chuck is a psychotherapist and counselor who works with individuals, couples, and families on a wide range of issues. Chuck’s passion is helping clients to move toward healing by getting in touch with their own strengths, skills and resources, and in time, move beyond suffering to thriving. The age of his clientele ranges from 9 years old to the elderly. Chuck describes his approach as being Heart-Centered, Mindfulness-Oriented, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Chuck says that it’s an approach that is straightforward, respectful, and very effective. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT, can be extremely helpful by giving clients more understanding and control over their thoughts and feelings. Mindfulness in therapy means helping clients to be in relationship with what’s going on in them, instead of only being identified with that. Clients can quickly learn to touch on that place in them that is already healthy, and see things from there, even though they may be suffering in other ways. Chuck is on the training staff of the Chicago Center for Self Leadership, where he helps teach Internal Family Systems Therapy, or IFS. He also leads regular training and consultation groups and provides supervision for area therapists. Chuck is a founding member of the Mindfulness Community of Milwaukee, and past president of the C.G. Jung Center of Milwaukee. He has lectured in the Departments of Human Kinetics and English, at UWM.
