Nancy Cechvala
MS, LPC

Nancy is a professional psychotherapist with special expertise in working with individuals with ADHD, ODD, RAD, cognitive and learning disabilities, and emotional/behavioral disorders of all forms from age two to adults. In addition, she works collaboratively with their families and/or guardians to provide the support and structure that will establish self-advocacy and maintain a healthy environment. She has a firm commitment toward enhancing lives by identifying positive assets, strengthening coping abilities, assisting in the development of functional skills, communication skills, and problem-solving techniques that are so vital to leading happy, healthy and productive lives and to maintaining meaningful relationships. Nancy utilizes an individualized, eclectic approach to therapy with special emphasis on the cognitive-behavioral approach, mood therapy, mindfulness, and motivational therapy, in addition to direct and indirect play therapy for children within a safe counseling environment. Nancy also has experience counseling individuals and groups that have had issues with trauma, anxiety, panic attacks, domestic abuse and violence, anger management, depression, grief and bereavement, divorce and PTSD. Nancy obtained her undergraduate special education degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and she has received her masters in Counseling Psychology from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee.
